Skills Assessment Applications

Obtaining a suitable Skills Assessment is compulsory for some visa applications, and in some instances the Case Officer may use their discretion to request one.

Skills assessments are issued by skills assessing authorities, and the process involves checking that your skills meet the standard they require for your occupation. Most occupations have their own allocated skills assessing authority, and the Department of Home Affairs will only accept a skills assessment issued by the relevant assessing authority.
